1. My Sunday ice cream adventure.

Feet, walkin’ towards prize… surveying the choices and finally… cone in hand. Mint Oreo in a sugar cone. Totally delish!

This shoot was the result of me watching “O Brother Where Art Thou?” Something about this time period always fascinates me. I also wanted to try out a couple of my recent purchases. Actual brow wax and sealer amoung the haul. No more ghetto gluestick for me! I have to say, they worked great, its like they were made for covering brows…. wait. The acetone remover was also amazing. Kryolan is an epic brand. Malabar had a sale on some of their stuff so I stocked up on the cheaper things. Bruise wheel, makeup remover, individual lashes, cake liners. They had a lot of good things but I didn’t want to spend too much. That whole being unemployed at the moment thing. Ha!

Anyways the shoot went well! I had a good time rambling and I think Sarah enjoyed herself as well. I will be updating more regularly starting next week. Being the nerd I am, I made a schedule. So be prepared for some nerdy makeup goodness to come!

  5. tawejea:

I really love blues. Can you tell? Was looking for a chance to use blues on Jo again. Had one of our dinner makeup sessions. It will be one of my last theatric looks for a while as I really need to concentrate on natural beauty. Boring but necessary. Enjoy!

Can’t Leave, Can’t Stay (From “The Relationship Odyssey”) Lyrics
    Natalie Brown & Jeremy Rwakaara

    V1
Here we are at that same place again
Where we’ve been so many times before
    We’re here again, still questioning
    If we should be together
It’s so much easier to just pretend
It’s alright, all the pain we can just ignore
I’d like to know, should I stay or go?
    There is no easy answer

    Chorus:
    I can’t leave but I can’t stay
    I’m so confused
Cuz it’s so hard to walk away
I can’t believe that I feel this way
    My mind’s confused
    Cuz I can’t leave and I can’t stay

    V2
Can we sit down and talk?
Cuz I just can’t go on like this
I must insist, cuz I’m not convinced
That we can go on much longer

    B-Section:
    Confusion turns us into strangers
Can we work this out and make it stronger?
And in time can we come closer
    Can we find the answer?

  7. Reflecting on some sad news I just heard: I want everyone who reads this to know that you are not alone and that someone out there does love and care for you even if it doesn’t ‘feel’ as tho that is the case. Circumstances may seem overwhelming to you, you may even want to ‘give up’, but please know that there are people to reach out to when you are in darkness. Call someone, email someone, text someone, Facebook message someone, say ‘help me’ to someone… Whatever you do, don’t ever feel like there is ‘no one’, because there is always someone who will want to listen to you if you just reach out. Don’t fear reaching out if you need help, just do it. I am willing to bet that many arms will reach back if you just give people the chance. Your life is precious!

Electricity (From “The Relationship Odyssey”) Lyrics

    Electricity
    Natalie Brown & Jeremy Rwakaara
© Copyright 2011 natfunk music BMI / Zikki Publishing ASCAP

    V1
No mistaking how I feel, my heart is racing
    It’s not my imagination
I can hardly stand the waiting
And I hope I can reciprocate the way that
You go out of your way to show how
You feel about me and I know now

    Chorus:
    Look at me
    Don’t take your eyes away
    And you’ll see
What I have for you’s beyond ecstasy
Come baby, baby let’s go deep
    Feel the electricity

    V2
Let’s go round before you go
There’s some things I’d like to show
If you would like to lose control
And so let’s not fight it
Let’s go down this road and try to find it
That electric zone full of surprises
    I’ve just lost control
    And I can’t hide it

    B-Section:
    Look at me
    Don’t you want to see
    Beyond ecstasy
    Baby, baby let’s go deep

    Gotta Let You Know
    (Natalie Brown /Jeremy Rwakaara)
© Copyright 2011 natfunk music BMI / Zikki Publishing ASCAP

    V 1
    Out of the corner
I’m stepping out on a limb
    To let you know
    How I feel about you
    My thinking is sober
I’d hate to act on a whim
But I finally know how I feel
    About you

    CHORUS
Even if I make a fool of myself
Believing that there’s some kind of mutual feeling
I might as well try to find the meaning
    Of the word love
    Gotta let you know

    V2
    Over my shoulder
I’ve caught your eye once or twice
But it’s hard to tell what you’re thinking of me
But I can’t let go of ya without a try
So it’s now that I’ll make my move
Though I don’t know the ending
    So I’ll make my move

    Bridge
I’m stepping out on a limb
Don’t know where this is going
    Here’s my heart opening
    It’s full and overflowing

    DRIFTING
    Natalie Brown & Jeremy Rwakaara

    V1
We used to talk at least once a day
    And sometimes twice on Tuesdays
The weekends brought some fun and some games
And laughter shared in our way

    Pre-Chorus 1
But now there’s dark clouds heading our way
    They’re clouding the horizon

    Chorus:
Are we drifting away from what we had
    Oooh Oooh
And where are all those sunny days
We used to have, oooh oooh, oooh

    V2
When things began we thought they would stay
    A certain way forever
We couldn’t have known life would get in the way
And we would turn into strangers

    Pre-Chorus 2
What did get in our way?
    It’s clouding the horizon

    Bridge:
    So let me ask
Could we go back to a time
    To those simple days
    When mine was yours
    And yours was mine
And nothing got in our way

About me

I'm not one for writing hugely long blog posts, but I thought I'd share some of my thoughts here from time to time. I might ramble sometimes, use improper grammar, stick my foot in my mouth, not make sense, sometimes make sense... hey, I'm just working my thoughts out in front of the world, aren't we all to some degree?.
Who am I? I'm Natalie Brown, a Canadian songwriter and vocalist living her dream every day, trying to make sense of the world through words and music. I love life! Check out the music tab to listen to some of what I do and if you want more info feel free to visit my website or sign up to my mailing list.
